    WARNING

    Electrical Hazard

    • Ensure the refrigerator is unplugged and unpowered before uninstalling the refrigerator. Failure to do so may lead to electrical shocks or death

    Weight Hazard

    • Before moving the refrigerator, ensure that there are two or more people present. Remove any food or door trays before moving the refrigerator. Failure to do so can lead to serious injury.

     

    Supplies Needed

    • Adjustable Wrench: To loosen the compression nuts attached to the fridge

    • Pipe Cutter: To cut pipes that are too tight to loosen with the wrench

    • Towels and Bucket: To catch and clean the water that leaks from the removed pipes

    ​

    Uninstallation

    1. Shut off the main water supply

    • Turn on a faucet to relieve the pressure

    • Dispense the remaining water in the refrigerator

     

    2. Move the refrigerator out

    • Make sure to tape the doors shut

    • Move it just enough to access the piping and valves

    ​

    3. Close the shutoff valve

    • Unplug the refrigerator if you haven’t already

     

    4. Remove the compression nut

    • Prepare the bucket and towels to catch any leaks

    • Use the adjustable wrench to loosen and disconnect the tubing connected to refrigerator

    • If the compression nut is too tight, use the pipe cutter to cut through the pipe.

     

    5. Remove the piping

    • Have a towel ready to clean any water

    • Use the pipe cutters to cut the piping that connected to the main water line to the refrigerator

    • Pull out the piping and dispose of it accordingly

     

    6. Remove the refrigerator to desired location

    • Have two or more people carefully move the appliance

    • Ensure the fridge stays upright

    • Turn on the main water supply when finished
